Next Meeting:  8 June 2010

AGM+ this coming Tuesday

The next meeting of the VIWG will be held on 8 June 2010 at 7:15 PM at the Camosun College Fine Furniture Program classroom at the Interurban Campus.  Features of this months meeting will be to bring everyone up to date on the status of the Guild through various executive reports, hold elections for the executive positions that are coming open for next year, hold a Buy & Sell for any members who wish to bring along some of their production items for sale and finish off with the monthly draw of raffle prizes.  In hopes of encouraging you to attend this last meeting for Fiscal Year 09-10, we have obtained a very nice prize for the draw for this month, a Veritas Bevel-up Smoothing Plane from Lee Valley Tools.  You can view this plane and get the info relative to it by visiting the Lee Valley webpage (I was unable to copy it to this site, due to the security settings).

Previous Months Programs ...   We had a terrific presentation by Robin Lee, President of Lee Valley Tools.  Robin hosted us in their new store, and spoke and answered questions for a couple of hours, addressing tool design and development and how this derives from the history and philosophy of the business.

Calling All Ideas!  We would be most grateful for suggestions for Program ideas or requests!  Considering that this organization is designed to support you, our members – we want to provide informative, useful and enjoyable programming. Whether you are a beginner, a professional or a seasoned hobbyist in any area of woodworking, we want to meet your interests.
